Elijah went to the park today and enjoyed the almost 80-degree weather. Click on the picture for a video of him enjoying himself on the swing.

Elijah's Giggle Box

Today we made cookies with Elijah--mama had the bright idea to dip Elijah's hand in sugar and press it on the sugar cookie to decorate it. That didn't work-he grabbed the dough instead. Elijah also grabbed the bowl of silver sugar balls and decorated the floor in the dining room. While daddy vacuumed mama took Elijah in to see the tree and he sat for almost 30 seconds looking at it. Later at dinner, daddy figured out if he made bull horns on his head and "charged" Elijah that Elijah thought it was pretty funny. Click here to see the video.

Growing Boy

1 week old:

15 weeks old:

Happy Turkey Day!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!We had a good, uneventful Thanksgiving. After helping Mommy in the kitchen baking some pies, Elijah decided he would rather go back to be and snuggle with his daddy.

That gave mommy a chance to finish baking and to get herself ready to go. Here is a picture of the happy bunch ready to head over to grandma and grandpa's house.

Vroom Vroom!

Justin and Covey are now the Proud owners of a brand new Honda Fit Sport! It had 13 miles on it when we bought it. We were able to trade in Covey's old Mazda for the Blue Book value and we got a good deal on the Fit. Originally we had considered the Civic but upons closer inspection and a test drive decided the Fit was a better "fit" for us. Here is a picture of Covey driving her new car this evening. Click on it for a link to the Honda page for a Fit car.

Elijah's New Noise

This is pretty funny--it can be seen here
One note--he is so out of breath because he is standing in my lap. I have one hand under an armpit to keep him from falling but that's it--he is working pretty hard to stay upright.

Here is one of Elijah and his super funny daddy:Here is another one of Elijah in his jumper (this one you can actually see)

Here is a cute picture of our future coffee connoisseur--Elijah loves watching the coffee come out of this coffee maker.

Is This Normal??!!?? I need feedback!

Yesterday I volunteered to help out in the childwatch at the gym for a couple of hours and took Elijah with me. I was playing on the floor with a 10 month old and had Elijah sitting next to me leaning against my leg as support (he can't sit up by himself yet.) The 10 month old reached out, grabbed the seat of a nearby chair and pulled himself up. Elijah watched him do it, then reached out himself, grabbed the seat of the chair and pulled himself up too. He stood there holding on for about 3 minutes by himself (with a very nervous mama waiting to grab him should his little legs give out). Now, he routinely pulls himself up when in our laps and we are holding his hands and he loves to jump in his jumper and exersaucer so I know he has strong legs but is it normal for him to pull up like that by himself and stand unassisted?? He is 3 1/2 months old.

Jumper-King

Here's Elijah trying out his Jumper for the first time. Turn your monitor on its side and click the picture for a cute video. He really likes this jumper--this morning he played for 30 minutes while mommy ate breakfast and emptied the dishwasher.

Cereal Time!

Click on the picture to see Elijah eating cereal for the first time. When we went to the doctor a few weeks ago, he said to try some cereal if Elijah didn't start sleeping better. Saturday night Elijah got up 5 times between 10pm and 5am so last night, for the first time EVER, we let Elijah try some oatmeal mixed with mama milk. Boy did he scarf it down (kinda). He didn't gag and didn't try and push it out and he really attacked the spoon when we offered some more. We gave it to him at 6pm and he went to bed at 10pm, after nursing at 9pm. He slept for 6 hours!! He didn't get up until 4am! It is a miracle! We are going to try cereal again tonight and see if he has a repeat performance. We are hoping so!

What's In A Number???

That's how many pounds Covey has lost since Justin proposed 4 years ago (40 lbs are post Elijah-thanks to the promise of a hot shower at the gym and nursing).

Lighthouse Trip

Covey is proud to say that she climbed her first lighthouse this past weekend. It was over 200 steps to the top and we made it up in under 6 minutes. It was pretty darned cool!
Elijah was too little to make the climb (no one under 8 years old) so he hung out with his granny and grampy in the gift shop.

It was a big weekend of firsts for Elijah--first boat ride, first time in Grampy's truck, first time at the ocean, first time swimming in a swimming pool (It was heated but too cold--brrr--we ended up going back to the room and taking a Jacuzzi bath instead!), first time eating shrimp (2nd hand of course). It was a fun trip.

Mama's Little Beefcake

Went to the doctor for Elijah's 3 month checkup. It went well--he actually laughed at the doctor while he was checking his hips, heart and lungs. The only part he really didn't like was getting his ears checked, even then he didn't cry.
Our "little" man is in the 98% for height and weight for his age. He is 15lbs and 25 inches long! WOW! That is a gain of 3 inches and 5 lbs since his last visit.
Here is a picture of Elijah enjoying his Execersaucer (how much is that baby in the mirror?)
