Undressed in Style!

I put Elijah down for a nap today and he was none too happy! He fussed around up there for 45 minutes before falling asleep. I went in to check on him and he had taken off his pants and his diaper. He was sleeping in his shirt and socks. Needless to say it was a short nap--the milk he drank before his nap needed to make an exit and there was nothing to stop it!
I do have a picture but I am still debating whether or not to put it on the web. It is just a tush shot but still--how many naked baby pictures should I put on the blog??

Hello Tristmas!

This past Saturday we put up our Christmas tree. Elijah calls it "Tristmas." We figured out that we have to put the tree down for a nap and down for bed at night (turn off the lights) and Elijah is fine with leaving it. The ornaments from about waist down are just laid on top of the branches--Elijah loves to pull them all off. Ornament round up every evening is going to become a part of our routine. Elijah also wants to have his milk and stories before bed in the living room by the tree. It is too cute! Here he is seeing the tree for the first time.

Blender Baby #2

Well--I've been feeling Ferncliff (aka Baby Denton #2) moving for a while now but over the past 3 days little Ferny had a growth spurt or something because s/he is slamming around upwards of 10 sessions a day and it is VERY distracting! S/he is actually strong enough now you can see my belly move and feel it too. This baby is much stronger than EJ was at 23.5 weeks. Hopefully it won't be too much bigger come March :)

Fun Fun Fun at Virginia Beach

Well-Elijah and I made our first trip to Virgnina Beach and we had a blast! It was so fun! Elijah enjoyed the heated indoor pool and the aquarium the most. Here are some pics to hilight our trip. We are now in Charlottesville at Granny and Grampy's house . The trip here was made much better by the Awesome early Christmas present of a DVD player for the car. Elijah enjoyed watching Kidsongs on the way home--much better than 3.5 hours of fussing!!

Anyway here are some pics of the trip:

Here is Elijah touching the stingrays.

Here he is with a turtle.

Here we are getting eaten by a Great White Shark.

Here he is after some big kids knocked him down near the shark tank--check out that head bump! We actually had to file an incident report with the aquarium for that one. Even after such an injury he was laughing and playing and we saw the second half of the aquarium. What a little trooper!

Here he is with Granny enjoying the lights on the beach.

Here he is getting a snack from the condo fridge wearing nothing but his socks.

No picture of this story!!

While I was at my LLL meeting on Monday night daddy gave Elijah a bath. When Elijah got out he wanted to wear his belt and his boots-nothing else! Of course--being a good natured daddy--Justin let him run around until he got cold. The even funnier thing is that Elijah's belt is actually one of daddy's belts wrapped around himself twice. Quite a funny sight and I am sorry to have missed it!

No posts for a while. Elijah and I are headed out of town until Tuesday. This will give Justin a chance to bachelor it up a bit and Elijah a chance to see his great-grandpa at Virginia Beach.

Mr. Fashion Statement

I thought this didn't start until later!! We even had to nap in the boots. Sigh! I guess this is just one of those things where you pick your battles :) This one isn't worth fighting over!

Also, please pray for us and Elijah. He hasn't been sleeping well for about 3.5 weeks now (really he only slept well for about 3 weeks then reverted back to being pretty horrible at night). Anyway, I am getting worn out! He went to sleep last night at 9pm, was up 7 times overnight, then was up for good this morning at 5am. He then took a 1.5 hour nap this morning and that is it! I don't know what to do!! I am scared we are both going to get sick from being so sleep deprived. I know I've asked before, but short of spiking his evening bottle with Jack Daniels (just kidding), any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Budding Picasso

Thanks to Granny and Grampy for the easel--here are some shots of my little boy painting for the first time. Too cute!!

He did really well until the paper was filled up. Then we had to have a talk about how paint only goes on the paper, not the table, fridge or floor.

My favorite part was when he painted his name on the page. He starts making straight lines and I asked if he was writing his name. He said "Mmm-hmm--Eeeee-Llllll-Iiiii-Jah!" He knows the E-L-I part and he calls himself "Lijah" so he is pretty close. He loves to put his name on anything he colors. He also likes to find "E" in his books and stuff. I never thought a 15 month old would like letters that much! Yesterday was his official 15 month birthday--ahhh, my little man is growing up!!

Clicky Cowboy

Here's the video of Elijah clicking around in the kitchen. Sorry if it is dark--we just have the one window in the kitchen and it wasn't especially sunny yesterday.

Howdy Cowboy! and a Weekend Update

Many thanks to Granny and Grampy for this fashion statement. Here's Elijah and his boots that Granny and Grampy brought. Notice how the pants are pushed above the boot--apparently that is the 1 year-old style guru's way of wearing them. His favorite part about the boots is that they click in the kitchen on the floor. He was clicking and dancing for about 10 minutes this morning.

We had a great weekend with Granny and Grampy. Elijah loved seeing them and actually cried when they left :( We had a good visit with our new midwife. We were able to hear the hearbeat (152) and I am measuring at 21 cm (which is right on for this stage).

Elijah went Trick-or-Treating at his nana's and papa's house (they were working late on Halloween) and got a banana-peanut butter cup. Yum! Here he is with Nana's "bug" spider in the front yard.

Going to Uncle Cody's to Trick or Treat! It was fun! Elijah got to see the pumpkins, make the ghosts go off by saying "Boo!" and start uncle Cody's cycle two times!

Elijah got quite a haul for a 1 year old. He got 3 Twizzlers, 3 peppermint patties and a bag of M&Ms. Our neighbors also made cupcakes and sent us home with some of them. YUM! The hit of the evening was the peppermint patties--"Mint!" Elijah's favorite!
